As a founding partner and legal director of MONLEX, he develops different legal specialities at the service of both private and corporate clients.
He is a legal advisor to hotel chains and companies linked to the tourism sector, both nationally and internationally. His main clients are hotel companies, tour operators, online travel agencies, B2b, incoming, companies specializing in M.I.C.E., insurance companies and international insurance brokers, IT companies and real estate investors. He has been a lawyer at Riu Hotels since 1987 and Director of the National and International Legal Department of the Hotel Chain. Besides, he is the General Councel of the Riu Group.
He has also represented ZONTUR (Agrupación de Empresarios de Zona Turística de España) before HOTREC in Brussels. (European Confederation of Hotels and Restaurants).
He is the coordinator of the International Network of Law Firms “Monlex International”, with agreements and alliances over 20 countries (Mexico, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Cape Verde, China, USA …) where tourism investment is made by Spanish companies.
He coordinates the team specialized in out-of-court claims and judicial procedures in Civil Liability matters at national and international level in cooperation with the network of lawyers specialized in Civil Liability.
Closely connected to the business and tourism world, he has formed part of the Council of different Business Associations: Young Entrepreneurs, Confederation of Business Associations of the Balearic Islands, being ex-Vice President of the Hotel Federation of Mallorca. Founder of the “Impulsa Foundation” made up of the main companies of the Balearic Islands and the local government. He is currently Vice-president of the Hotel Association of Playa de Palma, member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Hotel Chains, secretary of the International Association of Hotel Investors (Inverotel), which brings together the largest international Spanish Hotel Chains, secretary of the Junípero Serra Foundation, specialized in Master in Tourism Business Training together with IESE and The Wharton School, advisor of Agrupación para el Progreso de la Dirección (APD), as well as, member of the Board of Directors and exVice President of the Cercle d’Economia de Palma de Mallorca, acting as economic think tank in the Balearic Islands.
He has also been a Professor of Labour Relations and Commercial Law at the Business Training Centre of the Balearic Islands. He is currently Professor of the Master in Tourism Contracting at the University of the Balearic Islands.
